Who we are...

Literacy NENY is a not-for-profit organization that provides private and small group instruction by trained volunteers to individuals wishing to improve reading, writing and English speaking skills.

Our Services include...

• Basic Literacy instruction in reading, writing and math

• GED preparation (High School Equivalency Exam)

• Tutoring and conversation groups in English Fluency

• Preparation for the Citizenship exam

• Peer mentoring in local schools

Our organization serves three counties and covers over 2,500 square miles. Tutoring takes place in over thirty locations, primarily in public libraries. Literacy NENY is always seeking new tutors, volunteers, and learners. The future of our organization depends on strong community involvement and support.
