PeerWorx is a peer tutoring service that promotes academic achievement and builds confidence for participating tutors and learners. High school students are trained to provide specific learning needs for elementary and middle school students and to provide homework assistance as needed. Tutors work one-on-one with a learner to assist in achieving their academic goals and to reinforce classroom curriculum. The tutors communicate regularly with learners, elementary teachers, and parents, to foster a positive and fun learning experience.

High School Tutors Succeed:

• Become role models and mentors

• Gain a sense of responsibility and involvement

• Promote learning beyond the classroom

• Develop work place skills with an-after school job

Elementary and Middle School Learners Succeed:

• Improve in subject areas in which they struggle

• Hone critical thinking and study skills

• Increase self-esteem

• Encourage positive social behavior
